INDIANA ROWING CAMP
  • Indiana Rowing Camp

We offer options for both the beginner and experienced rowers and coxswains. IU Head Rowing Coach Steve Peterson and his staff offer a challenging, fun, and rewarding experience where beginners learn fundamental skills and experienced athletes focus on technique development and individual performance.

    TOTAL ROWER DEVELOPMENT

Commitment to excellence on and off the water is the emphasis of the Indiana Rowing Camp. Campers are divided into groups by experience and ability with low camper-to-staff ratios for concentrated teaching. There is a strong focus on individual skills in this dynamic program that advances team building.

Campers will learn the basics of rowing including sport terminology, and the care and handling of equipment. Water sessions include attention to technique, focusing on rhythm/ratio, blade work, and catch and release positions. Land sessions include physical training in addition to lessons on race tactics, nutrition, and collegiate rowing/the recruiting process. Daily activities include video analysis and question and answer sessions!

Commitment to excellence on and off the water is the emphasis of the Indiana Rowing Camp. Learn why rowing is the ultimate team sport.

    SPECIALIZED COXSWAIN TRAINING

The coxswain is a key element of the crew and will be given specific coxswain training with a well-rounded approach for the tactical, technical and psychological aspects of the position. The coxswain's role will be enhanced as they participate in land training activities with the rowers. We can only accept a limited number of coxswains.
